Fibromyalgia Escape
August 11, 2009
Recently a good friend of mine from "Escape Into Life" webzine thought up of an idea for me to start writing for the art webzine. I read it regularly, and added the "Escape Into Life" button on the right column of this blog, you can click over it to take you directly to the art webzine.
This is the perfect outlet for me to get my mind off of my health and into that zone of enjoying life. As you know Fibromyalgia does not come without "pay backs". I am still regaining my energy from two days ago. Yesterday I could not even think strait from the brain fog. But I had loads of fun. Well worth the cost of time and energy.
You may ask why I do not write for a health publication. I will tell you. I worked in the medical field for a while and went home to everyone's popular show "ER" on TV. Yes, it was a great show, but just not for me. This burnt me out of the medical field. It just was not my cup of tea. I like to keep things different in my life and do things that inspire me. I do not have a "passion" for my health issues, yet I will keep writing about anything I find new and helpful for other people. For now, I need inspiration of my own. For me, I find that in the world of art and writing. I am still working on two books of my own.
I have always been fascinated with art. I was a good sketcher and painter once. I will pick that up again some day. For now I am getting my feet wet again by writing about art I see in Portland and interviewing artists. I am a real people person so I have no problem what so ever walking up to people for a chat. Thursday I interviewed an illustrator whom displays his art in Portland. His background is of South America. I was quite fascinated on what he had to say. I will be submitting my piece to "Escape Into Life" this week.
I also went to the
"First Thursday" art fair. This was held throughout the streets of Portland. From the "Pearl" district on over to "Lovejoy". One section took up five city blocks. I took the street car to three major sections of the city. The streets were full of art and people through 10PM. A community called Lovejoy was the most friendliest and open community of them all. I had a great time and "pay backs" with fibromyalgia are well worth it to me. One thing I still can not wrap my head around is how I can be so full of life and energy one day and down for the count the next with fibro. Another thing to blog about. For now I am still resting up for
"The Manor of Art at Milepost 5" 100+Artists and 20 music bands. Should be loads of fun!
