Adverse Reactions to SAVELLA

Hello friends-

I am on day 6 (25mg) of my starter pack for Savella and am having severe adverse reactions to it. I noticed on day 3 that my heart was racing like crazy and it's only getting worse. I feel like I am going to have a heart attack. I am vomiting all day now and cannot eat due to the nausea/vomiting. Have any of you tried it yet??? If so how are you doing on it?? What should I do? I can't just stop taking it cold turkey can I? You are not supposed to do that with any SSRI, SNRI etc. I hate taking meds but was soooooo desperate for help that I went against my gut feeling. I am so much more sick now. HELP!!!

    Sabrina, Call your doctor and tell him/her what is happening.  Don't wait.  If you can't get your doc, call the ER but talk to someone in the medical field.  Do it now! Please

    Hello! Sorry for the delay in my response my computer has a mind of it's own. The day I wrote the post was the last day I took Savella. I am okay now. Having MAJOR fibro fog and flares today so I will finish writing this another day. Thanks for your advice. :)

    I've taken Savella for a month and have had no adverse reactions. My doctor told me to try it. He said most of the patients he knew got sick on it, but I waited and nothing. I actually feel a bit better but of course in Ohio with the average temp being 70 degrees right now and rainy, I am flaring miserably. However if you are taking it they say the sickness goes away in approximately 2 weeks. Give it a try and if you have adverse reactions-let your DR know ASAP

    I was on Savella for a few months.  I got sick of the nausea.  I lost weight because of it and when I got tired of living on saltines & ginger ale, I decided to go off of it (with my dr's supervision, of course!)

    A little late on the post but I recently had to stop taking it because of the same exact reasons. (work was a little irked for sending me home so much) But it actually worked wonders for me. I was on it for about a month. I just cant stand the puking.

    I started Savella and can't get up to 50 b.i..d. It makes me feel and hurt worse so I'm staying on 25 mg twice a day for a while longer. Did someone say they saw a Dr. Greg Neimer in Charleston? How is he? My app is tomorrow (Wed). Any comments would be appreciated.
