Earthquake in Chile

This is a message from our friend Lucia Oller. He, his sister, and his niece all live in Chile. They all three are fine and so our their houses. Please read:

Hi Misty, thanks so much for having us three in your prayers and for caring about my country. Santiago, where I am at present, did not have great problems, because we are not so near the epicenter, which was in Concepcion. There are many small towns and villages around there and many of then in coastal areas, so they were hit by small tsunamis. The sea entered those places only 15 minutes after the quake, there was no warning but most of the people could run for their lives.

Most of the casualties are because people got trapped in their houses as they came to pieces. We are receiving international help, campaign hospitals for example, because the wounded persons had to be cared for outdoors,as hospitals came to pieces too. The highways were harmed too, and it was very difficult to get to those places with food, medicines and all that was needed. But little by little, the Army has reached those places, mostly by sea, and people are receiving what they need and are being cared for, then they are in better moods, especially the children who can eat better now.

All those cities, small towns and villages must be reconstructed, and that will be the big  task of our new president that will begin his  presidential period in a few days, on March, 11th. i know that many people, in different countries are praying for my country and I am thankful for that.
