CHECKING IN #3

We currently have 123 points!  I will get some new medals for you very soon.  You really deserve some special ones.

I keep running in to the phrase "The Joy of Movement."  It appeared in someone's journal here, in a magazine I was reading at a Dr's appt. and in an article I read in the Fibromyalgia Treatment Journal.  The author in the journal felt that the word exercise was psyching her out, and by changing her thinking about it, she has made real progress.  She walks with her 2 year old - who is learning to walk (How totally fun!) and then she pushes him around using his "push car" and she can use that for both resistance and stability.  All while having her together time with her son.

Whatever we do, if we use our "Joy of Movement" to move toward a healthier body (rather than eliminating extra pounds say) It might help some of us.  I know it did me.

Call it what you want- but share it here so we can cheer you on!!  Go Team Fibro!

I did 15 minutes of "moving" to music.  Today I actually danced b/c I felt so good - some days it's just swaying but Moving in some way - Thats my new goal and I DID IT for today!  Woo Hoo!

    *big hugs for Glenda!!*

    Go girl!

Today I raced around like a mad woman with Wallace and the boys getting their Back To School shopping. I came back home and was so exhausted from the Florida heat and Walmart's huge-ness I took a 4 hour nap and terrified Wallace that I'd died or something. ROFL I keep trying to tell him- when I pass out just leave me there. I need the rest and I'll wake up when my internal battery is recharged.

I'm going to start with the ellipse machine tomorrow morning. Starting from scratch again. But I think I can do it!

    Love the trophies, Glenda!!

Getting the kids ready for school has forced me to do a heck of a lot more walking than I anticipated. I took the kids down to their bustop last evening and back home again so we could time ourselves to see when we should leave the house. Kind of a winding, curvy road so it was hard to judge otherwise. That was a 15 minute walk. So that counts for yesterday.

As it stands I'm going to get my fifteen minute walk in everyday TWICE a day whether I like it or not!! ROFL ..... *whimper*

    Eh. Maybe it'll be beneficial.

I love the term "Joy of Movement".  It's such a nice way to think of exercise, rather than some sort of chore.  I also love taking walks with my husband around the block.  It's a nice way to catch up on the day.

I'm still in super-flare mode, so I'm not working out at all.  It seems like I keep having to start all over again with my "movement" progress.  When I feel better I'll start again at five-minutes and see if I can work my way up from there.  For now, I've got no points to offer... stay tuned, though.

In the meantime:  * Rah rah RAH! * to all the others!

Saturday was Ira's firm "summer party."  We planned for it for so long I really wanted to go- Well guys, I made it!  It was perfect b/c every hour or so we moved to  different room for a new "wine tasting" and had horsdevoures, and some of the meal courses there.  Then the main dinner (Lobster Mmmmm) and then homemade donuts with various toppings out by the pool.  We got a room at the hotel where the event was held so at the end of the evening - we went for a short walk down by the beach and hit the sack.  Sunday morning, we walked down to the beach again and had bfast in one of those cute little outdoor cafes.  I slept all day Sun., could only be up for about 10 minutes before my muscles started screaming (Ira had to take me to my chiro appt) and yesterday I could be up for about 30 minutes before collapsing. lol  It seems a high price to pay but I'm going back to building up the stamina and hopefully it will get easier. *sigh*

Yesterday I did get 10 minutes of "movement" albeit pretty pathetic.  And at least I'm alert enough to have noticed that I haven't been using my WRAP during my recovery time. Duh!  I've been in bed but not doing any of the things that have worked to make me feel better in the past,  I hope you are using your WRAP Benia:-)

Angel, it is so cool that you are doing the mom thing!  How old are the boys?  Yep, your walk will definitely be enough exercise twice a day, but after a while, I know you will be doing it (most days) like it was nothing and you'll be clammoring for more!

Take it easy Benia and thanks for the Rah Rah's.  Love you guys

Sounds like you really had a blast, Glenda!!

The boys are 8 and 9. It's been nice. Stressful but nice. No big upset in the household change. I've known the boys since they were in diapers and half raised them.

You're right. I decided after a few days that I was going to try and take a nice walk around our apt complex during the evenings if the weather is nice. I did a hard 20 minute walk ON TOP of my morning/afternoon walks to/from the busstop last evening. Very proud of myself. I slept like a baby.

It rained tonight so that kinda ruined my plans. Bleh!

I swam for a half an hour in the pool this afternoon with the boys and played with them. Great fun!

The past three days I've done at least a half an hour of ballet barre. YAY!!! I'm finally back and doing things I love!!!

My thighs are nervous-jiggly like, "shit, woman! quit asking us to do this stuff!" But you know what I say? "Suck it up and get used to it. I want to do this!"

Did a few minutes on the ellipse machine today. Getting the kids to
join me!! They love it.  Right now I can only do either barre or the
ellipse OR walk so... I'mtrying to be careful not to overdo anything. I need all the energy I can get to take care of these two boys.
