Tai Chi

Peg

I picked up a DVD for Tai Chi and started it today. I know its best to do Tai Chi with an instructer, but I happen to live in an area where there is nothing! Not a pool I can use, no Tai chi, nothing, so I went this path instead. The instructions are easy to follow and I was able to go through a couple forms before I had to stop. Only about 5 minutes for my first day, but I was starting to feel it in my right leg.

I figure between a little stretching with Tai Chi and walking my dog, I'm not doing to bad for a person with Fibro and a bad back.

Hello, I am past  intermediate Tai Chi from college and looking for a good DVD, something in the Yang family style, I saw this guy on Giaim (sp?) and am considering it...what dvd are you using?  Do you have a community college nearby? as sometimes you can get in on a class for a decent price and usually 2 days a week.  Do you start with a Tai Chi walk and warm up...I learned some really great stuff to help with fibro...it is kinda hard to show over the computer...lol!  Remember to breathe in on your right leg and exhale on your left...it is about the focus on breathing and movement.  If you have a bad day...just Tai Chi walk and focus on your breathing.  There is also something called "the form without a form"...you just keep moving and breathing.  Good job and good luck.

The Tai Chi DVD I picked up is called Step by Step Tai Chi by Tiffany Chen. Its pretty good. I did another session today. I had to wait till my neighbor could help me get the drivers I needed for my computer to run it. I also extended my walk today to about a quarter of a mile.
