with chemo my hair fell out and I had to wear hats for 6 months- I wore the winter hats as with no hair I would get so cold- and with fibro cold is not good - now my hair is coming back but still quite short and sparse but I found 2 lovely caps that I call chick hats--LOL and now I wear them when I go out in public-- and I tossed some of those togues away -
I have also learned to say no and practice it often.
Every two weeks I go and have my nails done. And about once a month I also indulge in a pedicure. This is about the only "me" time I get these days. I also love a warm bath in the whirpool as often as I can, especially right before bedtime, since it relaxs the muscles and helps me drift out to sleep easier. ahhhh
I took my puppy Mia Shawty (part Chiuhauha and Boston) into the petstore and tried sweaters and coats on her. I ended up buying a little coat...I was laughing the entire time. She is little and gets cold as it is like 34* here in the a.m., so I put her lil coat on this morning and it just makes me laugh.
I just saw your comment on the self-care comminity...thanks for being the only person besides myself...lol. I was actually put on SSI for chronic severe migraines...so I hear you on the processed meat. Just wanted to let you know that there are many companies including Wild Boar that make salami without MSG, nitrites, or sulifites. They can be hard to find and I do not eat much of it; amazing how there are more endorphins in salami than in dark chocolate. I luvs my dark chocolate too. Take care and luvs.

You are my soul sister with the dark chocolate, the epsoms salt, and fresh fruit and veggies!
I don't have a drivers licence and I walk to my doctor's appointments the grocery store and anywhere that is within a kilometer of my house.......and I live in a three storey townhouse! walk walk walk!!!! Not slow but kinda fast to really work your muscles....Dark chocolate is wonderful as a treat.....I hear ya about the salami! I find that processed meats give me wicked headaches and all those nitrates, sodium and other preservatives are NOT good for anyone.......fresh fruits and veggies are the bomb!!!!
Nice hot showers or hot baths with lots of Epsom Salts are wonderful for getting rid of aches and pains.....:)
I did a pedicure this week, went on 2 walks, and my ultimate self care; a glass of red wine and 72% or higher dark chocolate. Did you know that 2 pieces of dark chocolate 72% or higher or 2 pieces of salami are high in endorphins and will improve your mood and pain level. Salami and Dark Chocolate are not advised if you have severe migraines.
