Tell us about your experience with/connection to Fibro

When I was diagnosed I was in college getting ready for the nursing program. When I got into the nursing program I ended up injuring my lower back and needed surgery. During the time I was laid up waiting for the surgery the fibro got some worse but still fairly bearable. Then after the surgery, that's when it started going downhill for me.


My career goal was to be a nurse, that's what I went to school for, it was something I had wanted to do pretty much ever since I was a baby, I remember at the age of 3 telling my mom what I was going to be when I grew up, now at different stages of my life, yeah I had other interests as well but first and foremost was always to be a nurse, then with the nursing, I also pursued being an EMT, which I also loved, and I was even a firefighter there for awhile. Unfortunately, though my dreams were cut short by disability.

I got my GED in October of 1990, then started college in the fall of '94. I was a nursing student from 1996 until 1997 and had to take medical leave 3 months before I would have had my license. I am now going to the University of Phoenix online getting my BS in Psychology. I hope to get my therapy license.

I like a lot of different music from Country to Hard Rock, and Classic Rock. I DO NOT like Rap or Hip Hop, or whatever they call it! some of my favs are: Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Metallica, Poison, Billy Idol, Nickleback, Match Box 20,The Fray, Green Day, Linkin Park, AC/DC, Nazareth, Billy Joel, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Def Lepard, etc.
