I'm knitting some socks in soft worsted weight yarn and this time I'm doing the short row type of heel. I think its better for diabetic feet than the heel flap type of heel. Not so bulky in the shoe

Yeah! Shawnmarie! I can't wait to see your pictures! Hope you are having a relaxing day.

I am working on a baby sweater for my grand daughter. Has anyone else made the Baby Surprise Jacket by E. Zimmerman?  It is a very unusual pattern! K

Hi gang! Is everyone too busy for knitting these days? I have noticed a number of people, including me have been having fibro flares which can make it tough to concentrate or make one too sore to knit. Also I think folks tend to knit less in the summer time. I find when I am not feeling particularly well, or it is hot and humid- I like to start  a small "just for fun" project. For me that may mean knitting a pair of socks in a bright color or maybe starting a pair of mittens or a simple scarf that I may donate to charity or put away as a holiday gift for someone. Lightweight, portable knitting is great for summer ad starting a fresh, new little project can be good for your mood! Let us know what you are working on and how you are feeling about your knitting. What do you do to re-energize yourself and get a jump start into summer knitting? K

Becky you are so right. Knitting does take our mind away to a more soothing place. It is a good balance between keeping us focused on something positive and yet not over taxing us. I love felting. Although I have wiped out a couple of washing machines from over use!! Sounds like you are jumping into lace. Brave girl! I am just getting started with lace projects. We'll see how it goes!

Thank you for the nice welcome.  My favorite knitting project is felting bags and purses.  I knit with wool, then felt it in the washer.  I am self taught, so I am just learning to follow patterns, and have a couple projects with lacy stitches going.  When my pain is really bad, knitting seems to help.  I think it is because my mind is focused on something else.

Hi Becky! what adorable kids you have! Such a cute picture! We are glad you found us. Sounds like many of us enjoy lots of crafts, but that knitting has that certain relaxing quality that allows us do more of it. Tell us about what you are knitting these days and welcome to the group. We are new but we are growing!! K

Hi All I was looking thru the communities tonite, (can't sleep again) and found this group.  I am so glad.  I knit, bead, and do wire jewerly, but knitting has been the only thing I can do when the pain is really bad.  I love to sit outside in my swing, knit and listen to books on tape.  Knitting seems to help keep my mind occupied with something other than pain.
