We just got home from Mackinaw City last night. I went to a knitting retreat there. The retreat was great. The presenters were very good. I learned some neat tricks. I especially like the class on finishing which has never been my forte!! Bought some lovely baby alpaca and some hand dyed in deep teal shades, yum.
The cold/flu is going away finally! still have a cough but I feel better. Thank heavens. It was lovely on the water at the mackinaw Bridge. It was to have rained and snowed but we wound up with quite a bit of sunshine. Bob enjoyed visiting the Fort and other sites. we are both pooped and ready to be home but it was a nice trip.

What are all my fibro knitters working on? K

I am trying to motivate myself to work on some knitted swatches for a knitting retreat that I am going to in Oct. My husband and I scheduled this retreat over a year ago and have been putting the money aside, etc. he is going with me. It is held in Mackinaw City right by the Mackinaw Bridge which is one of our favorite places and it will be time for Fall color there etc. I can't wait.

(I am just trying to learn to spin)

But right now not able to practice, Cuz the dumb foot is still not in good shape!

(I broke it a couple of months ago and am still in therapy)

Now that fall is here, what are you all working on?

today the air is cool and Fall is in the air! You know what that means? time to pick up the needles and crochet hooks and start a cozy comforting project. even if it is a simple garter stitch scarf-which will make a great personal holiday gift-or warm your own neck when you are achy and chilly. Dust off the yarn! It is time to rock!!! Let me know how you are doing....K

I am a "knovice knitter".  I was taught the basics of knitting in a church youth class seven or so years ago and recently decided to dust off my skills.  After refreshing my memory with some online videos (go youtube!) I have began knitting a shawl (about half way done, and very nice if I do say so myself) and am starting a pair of socks.  I'll post pictures when my shawl is done and my socks look like something other than wristbands. ;-)

I have not been to a stitch and pitch event, but I have heard folks have so much fun!

I know what Shawnmarie means about the heat and knitting, but I think momsalittleoff is on the right track with socks! I find that socks and baby items are my projects of choice when summer arrives...although I am strictly a cool weather fan!
