Benia & Don's Pub Crawl (10)
Don & I did our "festing" on 7/3/09, since we both had the day off. We both love microbrews and used the day to explore 3 places we don't usually go: Emmett's in Downers Grove, Rock Bottom at Yorktown Mall, and Lunar Brewing Company in Villa Park, IL.
After brunch at Emmett's, we strolled along Main Street in Downers Grove and found a fun bakery where we shared an eclair, played at the fountain, and enjoyed treats from the chocolate shop. We sampled several beers at the Rock Bottom, then enjoyed the down-to-earth atmosphere and beer selection at Lunar. We also fested a bit more at the Bartlett fest, just blocks from home, but forgot the camera for that bit.
It was a fun and busy day, and well worth the day of rest it required on 7/4. We aren't much for fireworks, so it was nice to just relax on the fourth.
