Fibromyalgia and Guaifenesin

http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com/GuaiProtocol.htm This is a link to a site called Fibromyalgia Treatment Center. If you click on this or paste this in your browser, it will take you to the site where I learned most of what I know about the treatment. There is not need to join a club or buy anything from anyone promoting products. All you need to know is right there. No one is wanting to make money off you like some of the others. This site is dedicated to helping us feel better. Unfortunately, some people either do not want to feel better (believe me it is true, the disease is their identity I guess) or they are just too skeptical to try this treatment. There is no reason not to try it. If you are currently on any other treatment, it will not interfere with that treatment. There are no side effects to guaifenesin. It is a natural medicine available over the counter in any pharmacy in the United States. One form of Guaifenesin is plain Mucinex. That is how I began the treatment almost a year ago. Mucinex is made up of both fast and long acting Guaifenesin. This will work just fine. However, if you have prescription insurance, you may want to go with a prescribed Guaifenesin so your insurance will reimburse you. Mucinex is about $50.00 for 100 tablets. The prescribed type is about $35 and is not widely available like the Mucinex, but you can order it from Marina Del Ray Pharmacy in California. Simply call them to make arrangements. I have just recently started taking MDR (Marina Del Ray) Guaifenesin. This is the difference. The long acting Guai from MDR is easier on you. Your Fibro Flares do not hit you as hard as with the Fast acting. In addition, as I said, some insurances will pay on the prescribed Long Acting Dye Free Guaifenesin. This dye free is important to some of us who cannot tolerate the dyes. I am so much improved in a years time of taking Guai that now at last I am beginning to have my life back. Before I was house-bound most of the time. If you haven't been house-bound with Fibro, most likely you will be at some time. Despite what some have said, it does get worse over time unless you are fortunate enough to be on the protocol. I know, it is hard to believe it could be worse, but it can. Guai does not cure Fibro. At this time there is no cure. However, it does reverse the illness. In basic terms, Guaifenesin helps the body to remove the certain elements (phosphates) which have built up in the tissues of the body causing body wide pain and discomfort. You have probably not heard this theory from any other source. The doctor who developed this protocol, Dr. Paul St. Amand gives a good description of his theory at the web site which I previously provided. I could go on forever here, but it is better for you if you go directly to the site I gave you and get the straight info for yourself. When I found the site it took me a while to digest all the info there. I guess I am still learning from it. It would be in your best interest to refer to the site many times in order to learn all the information there. It is an accumulation of many years of research and learning from those who have Fibro and are using this treatment. Dr. Amand and his assistants are in charge of the site, but as I said, there are no fees involved, or membership dues. It is free. Dr. Amand is in no way affiliated with the MDR Pharmacy and has no financial interest in the pharmacy. One last thing. I know you are curious about my result. The Fibromyalgics which are following this protocol seem to be reversing the illness at the rate of one year for each two months they are on the protocol. That is the average. I would say this holds true as far as I am concerned. I have had Fibro symptoms for 22 years. After about a year on Guai, I have reversed about 4 to 5 years back. That means I feel more like I did about 4 or 5 years ago. I did take a short time away from the Protocol. Most likely I will not ever do that again. It is not worth giving up a half year of reversal for two weeks off the program

Hi Marcia,  I am a patient of Dr. St.Amands!  I am lucky enough to live in California so I get to see "the saint" myself.  It's nice to know there is another guai-er on this site.  I just started the "team fibro" community- and if you are a member of guaigroup, you have probably heard the story about the girl who actually came up with the idea.  She is delighted we are using it here  I'hope you'll come join us too!  I look forward to sharing guai stories and improvements with you!
