Fashionable Fibro

Its not easy looking your best when everything hurts and even the smallest thing like the label on your bra makes you itch with pain.

What are we to do?

What can we wear?

Why must we agree to wear ugly shapeless clothes just to be comfy?

Why arent the fashion designers out there not only looking out for those who suffer from pain and skin issues but also those who have a little extra padding ( yes im plus size and i am fine with it)

Well, here it is, a forum to vent all your fashion " WTF".

who am i? well, i am a fibro fighter, a sewing maven and a creative go-to gall that has a room full of fashion mages, sewing machines, and alot of ideas on how to my life , especially my closet, comfortable and FASHIONABLE for me and my not so good friend, fibromyalgia.

come on in, don't be shy.

FEET;   Ah yes, it was my feet that concerned me most at one point.  The bottoms of my feet would burn.  They were very stiff in the morning.  I could barely walk.  Sometimes, I thought that the tendons on the top of my feet were overlapping, the pain was aweful.  I had to stop wearing all my pumps.  I tried sneakers but found my feet burning even more. Finally, I went to fip flops and found some relief.  FLIP FLOPS?????? yep, the kind with a sling on the back are best as then I don't have to grip the flip flop with my toes when I walk.  Go Figure.

Wow clothing is an issue, I am a 'small' plus size, a 1x..i pretty much can't wear anything with zippers, need looser things so I mostly wear pull on capri's..where we live it's warm year round so don't need to deal with cold weather wear.

I like camp shirts, things that are not too tight and I can't wear anything aruond my neck, need a v neck preferably.

Shoes are another problem.  I mostly wear croc's if I go outside, for walking any distance they seem to be ok...i put on my walking shoes a few days ago had not had them on in a while and even though I tied them pretty lose, they were just too tight.

I try to explain that my feet are in pain.  Am I the only one with foot pain?

Yes, this is a good topic, because it's not easy to find something suitable and comfortable to wear. I ranted about my own problems with this issue on my blog earlier in the year in Fashion for the fat over-fifty with fibromyalgia

I love the show: What Not To Wear.

Now we have our own version!

I love the white blouse with the gray trim on the bottom. I would buy that one! Looks cute and comfy.

I can relate to the mall shopping!! Lol. Me too.

I think this is gonna be a neat site!

    Thanks Mabel!

hi mabel,im so glad to know that im not just weird or picky because i change clothes over and over trying to find that perfect bra and clothes that are comy to me.Its so true about the tags being painful, itchy and very annoying.I used to love wearing fitted shirts and skinny jeans but now i just want something to wear that i can keep on without wishing i was home to put on my old faithful loose pants and top.Any thing that clings to me or is restricting i just cant wear. Also wrong fabrics are a problem because they arent soft enough or they make me sweat.I try to shop for clothes at the mall but i usually leave with nothing and ive resorted to shopping online .Shopping at the malls is very tiring and frustrating too .Thanks im looking forward to seeing the clothes  youll be posting!
