I have had severe extremes in my blood pressure.  Usually it is low and when I am sick or in much pain...it gets lower...scary to medical professionals low.  If I drink too much caffeine or under stress it can go up.  Usually, I cannot get a machine to even register my blood pressure...it is that low.  You should absolutely  talk to your doctors as It could be issues with a medication or something else. Take care!

I never gave it a lot of thought, but since the constant companion entered my life, the nurses always took my blood pressure at least twice, as if they couldn't believe it could be that low. (I am a bit overweight)  and Jacy is right, anytime your BP goes through the roof  you need to see a doc.

My BP was at its lowest when I was on many medications, and it got better, though still low, as I learned different ways to live with the pain and decreased my use of them.

During this last bout of flu, the nurse said it was more  "normal", and only took it once,  though it was high for me, since I was struggling to breathe, and feeling the consequences of getting dressed and getting to her office with a dizzying fever of 103. I was very glad hubby was with me and doing the driving! and so was every other soul on the road that day!  It is a shame that no doctors make house calls anymore.

When I am in pain my BP seems to be high.  I am on meds now and it seems to be under control.  Also I take my pain meds when i really feel bad  so that I don't stress out so much and cause my BP to go up.

I am on a medication for blood pressure but they actually put me on it because my heart rate was staying so high.  If I am in a lot of pain my blood pressure and my pulse go up.  Well my pulse was staying over 100 all the time and it started making me really tired.  I mean a tired that FM has never caused, if you can imagine it was 15 times worse than the fatigue that comes from FM.  Just to move took so much effort.  So I finally went to the emergency room and they gave me IV metaprolol and recommended that I go to a heart dr ASAP.  Long story short, after going to St Thomas Heart Institute in Nashville I found out that I had a leaky valve that is moderate and my insurance won't pay to fix it until it is extreme, isn't that lovely?  I also have an extra heart beat.  I had thought that my heart was skipping a beat but it was when my heart beat that extra beat, it restarts my heart and I think that is weird that they aren't doing anything about it.  It's called palpatations.  And I am stuck on the meds for the tachycardia (fast heartbeat) because they think my chronic pain causes it.

But if you are having any type of heart problems and I mean blood pressure or heart beat issues too, go to a specialist.  At least then you will know what is going on.

I have one more test to get done and that is the tilt table.  I have state insurance and it is a fight to get anything done.  My grandmother just had heart surgery for a moderate leaky valve.  Of course she had to have it replaced with a pig valve and she also had two blockages.  She has medicare though so maybe that is the difference.

I've been put on beta-blockers due to elevated BP. However, I was always in pain when I went to my doc as my appt's are in the morning and usually I don't get up until I have to so I can get ready. By the time I get there my pain meds haven't kicked in.

So when I'm in pain it is UP along with a fever (99-100)
