I personally have never had a tender point test even though I have been diagnosed as having fibro on two different occasions by two different doctors.

Yes I did have the tender point examination when I was diagnosed with FM. I had 17 tender points, it was done by my rhuma doctor.

    Friendly hugs.

I have had this done at least 10 times over the past 15 years and I don't always get the same result - this is due to doctor's proficiency I believe.  However, I have never had less than 11.

I have had it done several times too and now I can feel my own pressure points or have hubby help me feel the ones on my upper back and I have all 18.  I actually have pain that radiates out of the ones on my upper back and at the base of my neck.  It really stinks!!!!

My rheumy does mine each year. I always test positive to all but 2, the elbows, lol. At least I don't hurt everywhere!

My old Rheumy did it when I was diagnosed and I had 16 or 17...  she said I was "covered" with tender points.
