    Yes,
Actually FM is not an autoimmune disorder.  It is a syndrome.
It affects the central nervous system in your body and causes the pain
receptors in your body to be magnified.  This is why people with FM
feel more pain than a normal person.  The majority of people with FM
will have perfect blood workup with nothing showing up.  This is why
for years we were thought of as hypochondriacs.  There is no blood test for FM.  The only tests available is the pressure point test that most drs will perform and they have MRI's of the brain that show the difference between a normal brain and a person with FM when normal pressure is applied.  The normal person's brain will not react at all but the person with FM will light up like a Christmas tree.  The MRI is not a mainstream test though so I don't know if insurance will pay for it yet or not.

Hope this helps.  Check out the FM treatments lounge for more information.

    Hugs,
    SHELL
