Not a lot of people seem to know about this condition, but it seems to go hand in hand especially with CFS. It can cause extreme fluctuations in blood pressure, dizziness, headaches, rapid heart rate (tachycardia), heart palpitations, and various other problems stemming for dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system. For me it has been the most crippling part of my illnesses for the last few years, and only recently did I become educated about it and realize what some of the crazy symptoms I was having are!     I had my POTS mostly under control, but I ran out of medicine, I lost my insurance, and suddenly the pharmacy is billing me a higher price, though it was supposed to be the same, so I found myself w/o my beta blocker for nearly two weeks...Not fun. Especially after meals I seemed to get the crazy heart rate as blood was diverted to my gut, horribly uncomfortable. Makes you very tired, and if you can't find a good distraction, can make you very anxious. (Your heart beating so hard you're out of breath sitting is kinda scary!)

    I got back on my meds a couple of days ago, but it seems to take awhile to fully work again.
    Today I made the mistake of sitting up at my desktop for too long (an hour?) despite my body sending nagging messages that it desperately wanted me to lie down, and it's not been a fun day. I had plans, and I ended up feeling just soo tired! And worn out, and frustrated! Patience is not one of my virtues, lol.

    I read about this and even think that I have it, but I have so much going on right now, I can't add this to the mix for my regular dr.  After the first of the year I am going to make an appt with my heart dr and get checked for it.

    I know what you mean! Sometimes I'm actually almost afraid to tell my a doc (esp a new one) about new symptoms, it's like, you don't want to overwhelm them or risk making them think you're a hypochondriac or something...

    Do the beta blockers help a lot?  I know my doctor considered giving me this but thought it would make me too tired, since fatigue is already a symptom of CFS and fibro.
