South coast NSW Auatralia

Hi

this is my 1st time on this site, I found it on

http://www.me-cfs.org.au/

I have had FMS for a couple of years, I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist and my GP agreed, he then sent me to a pain management specialist, he also agreed. I have all the classic signs, the pain is the worst, causing me to cut back on my shifts at work, and to feel lazy at home.

I take gabapentin, tramal, avanza, premarin. I am being weaned off buprenorphine patches. I try to swim. I have chiro care, massage and am trying Bowen therapy. My Pain management Dr performed a nerve block without success.

In the past I have had tofranil, panadeine forte, nurofen plus.

Does anyone have any new ideas or know of any new medications or therapys coming out for FMS

    Welcome Donna:

You will find great support here.

Have you tried Lyrica?? I have heard others that have had success with this med. I take it, but I'm not sure it is helping much.  I am still trying to find something that will help with my fatigue and pain, too.

What is Bowen's therapy?? Has it been helpful??

    Hi Donna and Nancy,

I have been away for a little while, welcome.

In regard to Lyrica, I was on that when first diagnosed and I feel that it helped. It helped with the pain and also with my sleep (I would wake with hair in place not a knotted mess)

Currently I am on an anti-depresant only and dealing with the pain (it is not too bad at the moment).

I was also on Cabasar for restless leg syndrome
