Kratom

I felt I had to join this site when I saw that kratom isn't discussed at all on the site (that I could find) It has been a godsend for both my wife and I in the struggle with FM. After you find the right kind and the right dosage, it helps with pain, energy, and mental clarity fairly dramatically (if your not in a flare up).

It is totally legal in the US so far and doesn't contain anything that could show up on a urinalisis. I'll wait for comments to post any more info.

    It's an herb indigenous to Malaysia, Indonisia, that part of the world. There are many different types out there, so it took months to find the right kind and the right dosage. We've done the work so we can help others shortcut to the kind and dosage. It'll cost around $10 an ounce to try it. We buy by the kilo.(28 oz)

    The latin name is Mitragyna speciosa. The type I use is called Premium Indo (from Indonesia). I get it in a powder form and make capsules, Some people take it by the teaspoon with a drink to wash it down slowly. Others put it in applesauce or yogurt. I take about 4-5 grams at a time. This is 8-10 double o sized capsules. Am I allowed to post the website I get it from here?



    It takes about 15 tp 20 minutes to start kicking in, so I set my alarm at night and when it goes off I take the kratom (by my bedside) and hit the snooze button, usually twice. By that time I can get up with less pain and dive into my day.

    The only thing I would be careful with is if you are on SSRI's or MAO inhibitors. For me it seems to blend well with darvon and flexeril.

    The reason I think, that some people get psychoactive  effects is because they are taking mass quantities to try to get a buzz. I use it medicinally. The first time or 2 that you take enough you may feel slightly buzzed. This is in part due to the fact that the pain is gone or greatly reduced. This fades quickly with use. You will still feel better but not so buzzy.

    Seems like people should be cautioned about using it with narcotic pain meds and those Mike mentioned. Sounds like an option. I'm going to do more research. Thanks for the links and info Mike.

    Sounds like a great idea, but to proceed with caution and make sure you are aware of ALL the meds you are taking.



    One question for you Mike, are you able to drive and/or function totally on this?  I have two young children and I am just curious.
